I am an interior book designer based in Boston, Massachusetts.

After nearly a decade working for traditional trade publishing houses, including HarperCollins, I am now offering my book design skills as a freelancer.

I have designed interiors for books that include simple yet elegant memoirs, strikingly creepy thrillers, adventurous science fiction, authoritative popular science, and bold narrative histories. I prefer to read a manuscript before designing the interior, in order to gain a feel for the book’s themes and tones. These will then be reflected throughout my designs, in details from font choice to ornaments and graphics inclusion.

I have created some of my own art pieces for title spreads and part openers, and I enjoy working on interiors that have art running throughout the text. I also create layout designs for photo inserts and have a growing interest in photo editing.

In addition to my work as a book designer, I am experienced in typesetting and composition. I have typeset a wide range of interiors: from simple chapter books to complex cookbooks and even a Children’s Dictionary.
